Petrie Athene CYB – Calfskin

The Petrie Athene CYB in calfskin is the more luxurious, softer version of this traditional polo-style riding boot. Fine calfskin molds quickly to the rider’s leg and delivers a refined close-contact feel, while the front zipper along the shin makes the boot easy to put on and take off.

Thanks to the lower heel counter, pressure around the ankle is reduced, which makes this boot particularly comfortable during intensive use. This version is ideal for riders who want an elegant, supple boot for both daily training and competition.

  • Traditional polo model with front zipper
  • Soft, high-quality calfskin for extra suppleness
  • Lower heel counter for reduced ankle pressure
  • Slim fit around ankle and shaft
  • CYB made-to-measure in a wide range of calfskin colors and materials

Fit & shaping

The Athene CYB calfskin version wraps even more softly and evenly around the leg than the cowhide variant. The slim shaft and narrow ankle section create a close, elegant line without the boot feeling “hard” or overly rigid. The polo cut with a front zipper makes the Athene very practical and comfortable, even during longer rides.

Heel counter & support

The calfskin Athene uses the same lower heel counter construction as the cowhide version, but the softer leather gives a gentler feel around the ankle and heel. This provides a well-balanced combination of support and flexibility: enough stability for dressage or polo-type work, while still allowing the leg to move naturally.

Calfskin & lining

This version is made entirely from calfskin – both the outer boot and the lining. Calfskin is known for its luxurious appearance, fine grain and ability to adapt quickly to the shape of the leg. That makes the Athene CYB calfskin an excellent choice for riders who demand premium comfort and finish.

CYB customization options

Through the CYB program, you can choose from a wide variety of calfskin types and colors, including patent, croco print and other decorative leathers. Different buckle styles (gold, silver, with or without Swarovski), piping and contrast details can be added to create a boot that truly reflects your personal style.

Use & discipline

The Petrie Athene CYB in calfskin is ideal for riders who want a supple, comfortable yet supportive polo-style boot. This version works beautifully as a competition boot and as a daily training boot for riders who value high comfort combined with a luxurious, traditional look.
